Tomorrow's the Big Day!

I'm a bit worried. They say Lieberman is gaining some ground and I so hope Lamont wins.

Politics can be very disappointing. So I'm prepared to face a loss, but I am so done with Lieberman and so anxious for some new ideas for our state. Alas, as someone said (who?) people get the government they deserve. I wish that meant individual people -- but the masses - even if asses - will always win.

Husband got a new phone from work and it's amazing! It's a computer and a phone and a MP3 player and a camera and probably communicates with angels for all I know. How on earth can all that be in such a small piece of equipment?

Today I took a long ride with my best friend DJ and we blared music and ate pizza and had a great time. It took my mind off of the Middle East, and the primary and gave me a much needed break from gnashing my teeth and biting my nails.

In about a month, the weather is going to change here in Connecticut. The nights will be cooler and before we know it we'll be trading AC for heat. So I really do enjoy being outside on such a beautiful day.

I'm happy and I hope you are too.

I'm happy but not whole. It's been a rough couple of hours around here, with someone small. I so hope Lieberman loses, despite the spin of ground gained. I don't believe it!! (=

AMK - hope all is well now with that beautiful "someone small" and boy, it's going to be a nerve-wracking day here waiting for results.

Jackie, Hives...I've had them and so have my kids...she probably woke up due to the itching...poor baby.

Poor Mommies! Lots and lots of work to raise children...xoxo

We get the government we deserve was attributed to H.L. Mencken who was a wonderfully sardonic personality in the 19th century. More scary I find is Ben Franklin's comment when asked what kind of government do we have and he responded "a republic madame, if you can keep it". If something isn't done with this midterm election I have to wonder if keeping it IS possible because I shudder to think what damage can be done by this gang in the next 2 years.

I would like to see Lieberman get a "black eye" to show that his policy decisions have been HIS conscience and not the desires of his constituency, at the same time I know nothing about Lamont (granted I don't live in CT, but I have friends there and try to stay informed) and a total unknown who is running on what people want to hear, I also find a bit scary. BTW, do you have Diebold machines in CT ... could make a difference in the outcome :(.

I don't know EC if we have Diebold machines. Turn out has been low at my polling place but in other areas of the state there seems to be a strong Lamont support.

Something has to change or we can predict our future and it isn't a bright one.

A friend in CT who is a System Administrator said there weren't Diebold machines at his polling place but he brought his screwdrivers and RS323C cable with him just in case :). I'm still torn on the issue of who I would like to see win, as a non resident but interested change person. The most important thing is to take back as many seats as possible in Congress and retain all we already have. History teaches us that 3-way races always hurt the best candidate :(. It is critical to restore some balance of power in the federal government. We have already seen what has happened to the long term future of the Supremes, and it can only get worse with a rubber stamp congress; we have already seen that we are despised in the world with guilt by association with the shrub; we have watched the world become a more dangerous place without the traditional checks and balances in place, etc. When people who see what is going on vote, they must bear in mind that restoring balance is more crucial than anything else in November!

As the bumper sticker says...can't we find someone to give the shrub a BJ???

Ec - How right you are about 3 way races...alas, this election has become something bigger even than electing Lamont over Lieberman -- it is one stinking little shot we have to tell the current administration we have so had it with Bush et al, Religionists, narrowminded thinkers, puffed up back room politicans, FOX TV - Political evangelists and EvangelicaL politicians.

How many CT residents think like me? I don't know. But this is the time and the place to make a statement about change.

Past behavior predicts future behavior and we know what Bush et al and Lieberman (Republican in Democrat's clothing) will do...

There's a quiet scream deep in our throats that wants to get out and say: NO MORE.
