Frivolous Friday

1) Friday’s rock because I never cook.

It’s a standing date to go out for pizza and even if I’m not really in the mood for pizza, I keep my mouth shut. It is understood that we will go out for pizza every Friday until one or both of us expires.

Friday mornings I go meet friends for breakfast. So it starts the day off as if it were a holiday of sorts. I love Fridays.

2) The new Ned Lamont primary poll looks promising. If only Lieberman would not run as an independent, if defeated on Tuesday. Three way elections always end up badly. Nader’s been a spoiler in elections for a while now and I’ve gone from respecting him to finding him a publicity hound minus the morals he once convinced me he had.

Lieberman’s independent run for senate will most likely knock off Lamont’s chance to win over the Republican candidate. If Connecticut Democrats want Lamont for senate, and Lieberman then runs as an independent and wins, he’ll be giving us the finger one more time.

I also wish Lieberman would stop sending me crap in the mail on a daily basis and then, “calling” me on the phone with a taped speech.

Go Ned Lamont!

3) It’s cooler now…in the 80s so I put down the top and cruised around town a bit this morning…I love my car. I never want a new one, I only want to keep this one running.

I had the Beach Boys blaring and the combo of the music and the wind in my hair is fabulous.

4) I wish everyone a happy weekend with good food, good friends and good music!

Thanks! I'm so glad it's cooled off... Actually, I'm looking forward to a dinner, a musical, and a concert over the weekend, as well as going shopping with a good friend - so it looks like your wish is coming true! Have a good one! : )

I love you guys...Irina, Nate and Selfish O...

I am very upset because after checking my stats...the anti-Jewish "Mel in drag" people are coming out of there nasty bigotted shells....

I am watching this unfold and I don't know what to do. How can I help?

I am so upset I could scream. Bradley's got a baby not yet born, who would be hated by the "search engine" people who've come to my blog. Which makes me hate them.

I hate hate.

I hate war.

I don't understand.

I love Along who's a Muslim. I love Irina, Bradley et al, who are Jews. I love Christians and mostly I love me ;-) who loves the best of all religions and eschews the stuff that is hurtful and mean and hateful and exclusionary.

I love athesists, I love questioners, I love anyone who's' kind and good.

I love nature...my cat, dogs and birds...they never discriminate...it's all about who holds the cookie in their hand.

Could we stop wars with enough cookies?

Hi MB:

If only everyone would have the loving feelings that you have!!

You are so right........a baby not yet born is already hated, and will continue to be hated, just because........so sad, isn't it?

Kind of scares me to be bringing a baby into such a world.......so many wonderful things to live for, and yet so much hatred to face and horrible influences to deal with.

I thank God that he will have the kind of parents he has. They are good and kind, and will teach him the right way to live. May God bless them all!

And somehow, I hope that people will learn to get along, stop the ignorant hatred, and leave each other alone.

Thanks for your thought provoking comments.

Love,
Linda

Linda...I hated to bring that up, but there are terrible anti Jewish searchers coming to my blog....it makes me so sick to my stomach and I just don't get it. Why can't people leave each other alone as you say?

In my mind we are all in this life together. All of us of all colors and religions need to bond together to keep our planet strong and healthy and allow all our children to grow up in a safe world.

Hey MB-
Melvin and I have Pizza date night too on Fridays. I love Friday night for this reason as well. We also have Gilmore Girls Veggie burger Tuesday. Sometimes we have Taco Sunday as well. It's much easier for me.

PG - isn't it fun to have these little routines that make a day just a little bit better? We do Chinese and a movie night which I also love...and Thursdays are clean out the fridge night which often is a smorgasbord of leftovers but pretty tasty.
