How to tell if your rescue cat is a real Maine Coon Cat.

Coons love water.

They have long bushy tails

Big round eyes

Long torsos.

Big paws, many with extra toes like Finbar who has 6 extra toes, the better to claw the rugs with.

Don't think much of the Times crossword puzzle and are bigger than a pepper mill at 5 1/2 months old.

That is a cute kitty, and I recall they become pretty big and huggable.

Your cat looks a bit like my Attila, the cat in my picture.

awwww.... I love the pictures and the "how too." hehehe

I"m currently baking chocolate chip cookie with some "hint of mint chocolate" baileys thrown in. My secret santa at the bookstore apparently LOVES cookies and Would you believe Mrs. fields doesn't sell Gift Certs? just as well - my way he's getting almost 3 dozen. at Mrs. F's they are 4 cookies for $5. I'd be at the limit before hitting a dozen. PSHAW!!!

hvae a great holiday -and i can't wait to see more pics of Finbar. :)

Hi Ilanna!!!! Aren't you good baking cookies...I came up here to do some wrapping, checked my mail, and just sitting down for the first time today, I can feel my eyes closing.
I don't know if I"ll have time to check back here, if not...a most wonderful holiday to all the smart, witty, intelligent and funny people who stop by Tchotchkes -- and to everyone else too, except mean people and people who don't share with those less fortunate.

PEACE ON EARTH, and I mean it dammit!

I'm glad you like Attila. I also had him ordained online in the Universal Life Church, but he never would perform a wedding :) He was 15 pounds and would probably make breakfast out of a pomerainian or even a beagle, but I bet your cat will be even bigger if what I hear about Miane coon cats is true.

Amk! Hope your holiday was a good one. Glad you like kitty's eyes....

I'd think by now everyone is sick to death of my cat pictures....;-)

Thomas...what a nice idea to have a cat who's a reverend. There's a church I might attend! I think he might end up big Irina and Thomas...one thing for sure, I've never known a cat like this one - he has so many quirks he slays me. The latest is sleeping in the bathroom sink. why?

Hi PG - he's getting big and bold and very soon he'll be neutered and I hope, a tad less crazy than he is now.
