I think I’m allergic to the month of October.

Every year around this time I get sick and it usually lasts till Halloween. I’m sure it’s allergies and not a bacterial infection, but an ear ache is an ear ache and a head ache is a head ache…no matter why or how you’ve acquired it.

Finbar, on the other hand, got sick and I took him to the vet where he received a shot of vitamin B and a shot of penicillin in his butt. Today he’s acting like his old, young self. Talk about an instant turn around!

I haven’t been visiting my favorite blogs lately because I really have no time and I miss reading about everyone’s life. Instead, I must tackle the mountain of laundry and backed up chores…bummer.

Update on the Bumblebee Tuna. According to a representative, the bubbles in the tuna can are caused by fatty oils from the tuna mixing with the vegetable broth. Some tuna has more fat than others so not all cans will have these bubbles.

I wish they’d just leave the tuna alone. I don’t like additives, especially when I don’t even know what they are. Like what is “soy product”? There’s soy product in the tuna now too.

I am pleased, though, that the Bumblebee rep has kept me updated on the bizarre looking bubbly tuna and the lab is in the process of doing tests to make sure there are no other reasons for these bubbles other than fat globules.

Food is becoming a big problem. Tuna has lost its status with me and so has bag spinach or bag lettuce. Vegetables are starting to give me the creeps. Then husband comes home with a pound of Stop and Shop turkey breast that was completely covered with freckles or brown spots. What the hell is that all about? Turkey breast should be white…not polka-dotted with spots.

I won’t eat it.

Did you ever get spotted deli turkey breast?

Off to work.

i wouldnt worry about the brown flecks its usually caramel coloring or sometimes seasoning.

but if you dont want additives dont eat it. but it wont hurt you anymore then any other high sodium lunch meat.

but if you were really worried about it i wouldnt eat any deli meat.

get all of your meat from the coop or the butcher and slice it yourself. but you still wont be safe. because there is still a chance of bacteria issues.

as for tuna they say you shouldnt eat that much because of high mercury content

as for the kitty im glad hes ok because he is freaking adorable.

if you believe everything you read or hear about food or other things we all should have died a long time ago hell some of us never should have been born we defeat all odds just by exisisting.

anyway sorry about that hugs im glad you are back:)

Minijaxter -- hmmmm caramel coloring...wonder if they injected the breast with something prior to cooking...that would explain things.

I know why I basically eat junk food, it's safe to eat! It always looks the same; it tastes good too.

Would you believe my older cat has a swollen ear now? Are they trying to bankrupt me this week? He is eating and it doesn't look too bad and he raced out so I'll have to keep an eye on him too.

Ilanna, so sorry to hear you're fighting the October ailments too.

Are you also terribly tired? I feel like I have lead weights attached to all appendages.

Pregnancy today means you can't eat squat. Each year it gets worse. Eat whatever you want now before they get their hooks in you and tell you no no no you can't eat those things!! Feel batter!

my blogging time has been cut short lately as well

i hate what is happening with food also. too many chemicals and additives. things we dont need but we get them in us anyways. extra hormones and all that shit cant be good for us... but there is fewer and fewer chioces aside from growing your own food and raising your own animals.

its good to know where your food is coming from so you can have a better idea of what kind of junk in being genitically and/or manually cut into it.

just to let you know that chicken is still pretty safe to eat if you cook it thoroughly.
they dont add hormones to it because there really isnt a point since they grow so fast
they dont give them anitbiotics for the same reason.
but if you are still worried about it look for free range chicken. its a little more but its un messed around with.
again if you worried about it look for organic. it means they just let the animals be and dont feed the cows -cows.
