Lieberman's Latest Ludicrous Lash-out

Did you think Ned Lamont was a certified teacher?

I didn’t.

I can’t figure out why the Lieberman camp has accused Lamont of pretending to be a teacher.

Doh.

Every time Lamont’s written about he’s described as a Greenwich millionaire who started his own cable company.

Every article about him that refers to his “teaching” says that he has volunteered in Bridgeport high schools, teaching a course on how to start your own business.

I would think most people agree that the use of the word “teacher” is not meant to confuse, but to clarify what he was doing in the high schools.

He was not painting walls; he was not cooking in the cafeteria; he was not running a cheerleading camp; he was not making copies for the office staff; he was teaching.

Pick a synonym.

Here’s a list of what Microsoft WORD will give you for teacher:

Educator

Tutor

Instructor

Coach

Trainer

Lecturer

Professor

Governess

I especially like governess. If Lamont had called himself a governess I could see why Lieberman would have a gripe.

Ahh the wonderful world of negative campaigning.

I get a newsletter in my email called factcheck. You should check it out (factcheck.org i believe) that is a *NON* partisan newsletter. They look at the adverts, research them, and then give the real story etc. For things all over the country - really informative. I find it really interesting at just HOW distorted the facts get, and disheartening about how little people try to find out the reality...

one of the things i like about living in delaware is there really isnt any negative ad campaigning.

all of the mudslinging you see is for NJ and PA.
because we live in that metro area we get their adverts.

but delaware not so much -its a unique thing that is primarily delawarean. we dont stand for it.

if there is mudslinging it works to the advantage of the recipient because people dont like that. :)

just the facts please.

Ilanna, that is a cool site. I was pleased to see that Factcheck.org criticized Lieberman for twisting and blurring the truth!

Minijaxter -- I think you're lucky to be spared that crap!

Nate -- Politics can be nasty - especially the Rovian dirty tricks kind of politics, but if all the good people refuse to run, we know we'll get nothing but the bad ones.

Spike, Lieberman is grasping, I agree. If only he'd left with his dignity, he'd probably end up being the next governor or certainly would land a cushy prestigious position in the cabinet.
