Vee Ay Cee Ay Tee I Oh En

Reservations were made 7 months ago, but time does pass and finally my vacation is only 2 days away.

We’re going to Provincetown on the Cape for 6 days 5 nights of fun, frolic and feasts. I can’t wait to visit all the boho shops, art stores, hand-crafted jewelry stores, book stores and of course the delicious New England seafood that I adore awaits too.

We’re leaving Wednesday morning, and will be back on Monday. Just thought I’d let my friends know why my blog will not be updated for a while.

It’s a walking shoe/comfy clothes kind of vacation where even the 5 star restaurants don’t care a fig if you’re dressed in shorts and a tee. I love this kind of vacation, easy to pack for and easy on the feet.

Now let’s hope to hell the dog sitter doesn’t quit mid vacation. I don’t know if she knows what she’s in for – attempting to keep these two farm-animal-sized dogs fed, in the yard, and off the furniture.

To my pet sitter: bless your heart my dear friend!

Thanks William! I haven't had quality time with my husband in a while so we are totally psyched for our vacation. I'll bet I'll have a few stories to tell too when I return!

Oh how I love P-town. I'm jealous....this is the most wonderful time of year to go to the beach. Everyone's gone, mostly locals, still warm, etc.

The last time we were there, our girl was 1 1/2 and it didn't work. Little kids aren't fun on that part of the cape, especially when going to restaurants, etc.

Have a WONDERFUL vacation.

JDJ and Irina - thanks for the "bons voyages" and well wishes.

Echrai - I am looking forward to that extra rest...thanks! I promise to have enough fun for myself and for you!

Acumamkiki --it is a great time to go, PLUS, big plus, we are staying at one of the most beautiful hotels for lots less money because the official season is over. Penny pinching so I can splurge!

Daniel, I went to you blog and support your fight for civil rights and equality for homosexuals.

As far as a Republican free world, not sure if that's the way to go, ;-) but I wouldn't mind reducing the number of red states before the next election!

Link me if you care to, that's fine with me.

Have a wonderful time, and take some time to lose the sensible shoes, the shorts, and the tee ... and have yourself a REAL frolic ...

... but we won't expect you to blog THAT story ...

Your vacation sounds AMAZING. Eat lots of seafood, and don't skip the desserts!

Eat lots of shrimp for me. Better yet, FedEx me some shrimp. That's what you should do. Seafood in the mid-west just ain't cutting it anymore.

Paintergirl, thank you, when I come back I'll know all the good places to go (I hope).

Nilbo, you just never know what I'm going to say on my blog...;-)

I just mean I won't have to teeter around on heels! Hell, I don't have much that could be considered sensible if you look in my closet...

Hänni & Sylow - I am a big shrimp lover, clam lover, seafood of any kind lover actually....so I'll eat some for you too while I'm there.

Lobster here I come!

MB! Have a GREAT vacation! I am going to miss you while you are away but I will think of you often having fun. Doesn't sound like you are as nervous as I was about the vacation...thank goodness.

Weetzie, I do get vacation jitters, in fact I have a big case right now. My worries: What if the dogs get loose; what if one of my elderly relatives dies while we're gone; what if we run out of money; what if the car breaks down; what if a fire starts in the middle of the night and I'm not there to let the animals out to safey; what if we spend a lot of money and still don't like it there; what if one of us gets a toothache. 8-)

See you aren't alone...I get a sick feeling in my stomach that I'm leaving my close family and how will they endure with out me for 6 days...(self importance I'm sure on that last one..)

Anyhow, once I am out on vacation I drop worries and forget about home and relax...but not the day before I go...it's worry-wart crescendo time at my house!

That's why I came up here to check my blog, to calm down. I am currently trying to pack every thing for any emergency we might have...as if I couldn't buy Excedrin, toothepaste, bandaids, etc. in Mass. silly me!

BK - you are a genius! I am going to give my key to my neighbors too which will cover the part if a fire breaks out and who'll get my animals out of the house in time and also if the animal sitter loses the key or locks herself out...thank you dear man, you have taken away one of my big fears!!!!!!!!!!
