I want to kill that kitten and am mighty pissed someone thought it would be a good idea to get "me" a playmate. Why didn't they just ask and I would have told them I didn't need or want a damn kitten in my life. I'm 8 years old and quite happy with my life, at least I once was.

Last but not least I introduce Tripper. He started life as a feral kitten, then had a foster home in a pet supply store where I met him. He has been a good cat in all ways but since the arrival of Finbar has reverted to some old, long lost habits: He wants to live outside now and rather than eating delicious cat food, he'd prefer mice. He detests Finbar as you can see from the expression on his face. Right now, only the humans in the house seem to like Finbar but that doesn't stop Finbar from attempting to play or snuggle with his dog brothers or his cat brother.

Only thing that would make this picture better is if he'd ended up with red eye. :)

I see you tend towards the male end of the pet spectrum eh? See, i've always had females - mister is the first male i've ever had. :)

Obviously though he is not happy with this interloper whom you have introduced... he'll probably get used to it eventually. (Got my fingers crossed for you...)

I will give this another go... blogger has been acting up over the last few days not letting me comment:

1) Finbar looks really cute and seems to have made himself feel at home! See... more than worth the wait!

2) Tripper is just use to being "top cat" and will eventually get Finbar in line to the way he wants things done around there. However, expect that went Finbar gets bigger and stronger, he tests Tripper every once and a while. My old Corky (she is a tiny little cat) often gets tested by Miles (young monter muscled cat) - but she sets him in his place very fast. Man, I love that old girl!

3) Dogs are happy if you pet and feed them, as I am sure Beau and Archie often demonstrate! I sometimes miss the simplicity of dogs (vs. the complexity of cats). Maybe when I move out of a condo and into a house I will look at getting a dog... But Corky would probably end up "schooling" that dog too!

However, I do not really miss the combo of a cat and dog house! Growing up, we had 2 dobermans and 2 cats and they all wanted to sleep in the same bed as me... one of those small single ones! As soon as one of them made the smallest move, all hell broke out!

Anyway... have fun with the family!

Ilanna, my last two cats were girls...when Tripper came into our home he was the baby brother of two old maids and they got along pretty well, even sleeping near each other.

I also had a female dog once but she had bad hip dysplasia and became totally lame at about 7 years old.

She also was a fear biter so having her wasn't easy...always separating her from anyone other than the immediate family. Maybe that's why I have male dogs now!

Mini -- I hope they can find some way to deal with each other...I never expected such animal tension as the three I had all were amazingly happy with each other.

Steve, I have had mucho blogger problems but I've also had mucho typepad problems so I'm wondering if it's my computer...

Yes, Finbar is worth the wait. You're right, Tripper will have to show his dominance and then kitten will become less of a threat and all should work out...I hope I hope.

The dogs can't get on the bed now that it's so high....I refuse to buy a stair case for them to get on and one or two cats is more than enough bedmates for me and husband!!

Ok-Trippers face and your keen interpretation of what he is thinking is killing me. I know that face, and it is a source of teasing at our house. Probably where the phrase sour puss came from. Our boy cat is most definitely top animal in the house. He was also feral. I am convinced he and his cat siblings lived on pizza crusts from the garbage, because even at 9 yeas, he still loves them. If Tripper is like my Sidd cat, he's thinking "They are going to try to kill me in my sleep"

The look on your cat's face is priceless. Looks like he thinks that kitten is a spoiled punk ass, not worthy of his street smart coolness. My cat, Foxly, was ferral as well and doesn't seem to like other cats. He loves to pick on dogs though and chase them around. He thinks that's pretty funny.

PG - I love it, the origin of the phrase sour puss!!! I think you've nailed it! He is so sour now that the baby is here....and Finbar who was affectionate to me once -- now only wants to snuggle the dogs.

Thanks Marko!!

Michelle, I don't think the feral kittens ever grow up completely domesticated...and let's face it, cats in general are never completely domesitcated anyhow...I wonder if they feel the same way about their humans!!
