He might look like a little angel saying his prayers but it's not so.

He's fresh, you can tell by the other more true to life photos, but tomorrow he'll be neutered and we'll see how it changes his wild behavior. I will not miss the chewing of the lampshade nor the leaping onto the mantle and then falling off taking a few cherished objects with him.

I won't miss the blitz attacks on my ankles nor the banana gnawing that he does if he can locate one on the counter.

What I will miss is Finbar himself as he'll stay at the vets for the bulk of the day. It's for his own good, I tell myself. Still I feel badly for messing with nature and taking something so important from him without permission.

The little man is going to the doctors. I cannot believe the picture of him chewing on the lampshade. He is such a villian.

PG - He even has that smidgeon of a mustache that is villianesque.

I'm so attached to the little bastard...but I'm sure he'll be fine.

you can even tell in the very first picture - that he has his paws together, like he's rubbing them together in evil glee and plotting! :)

I feel sad when i take them in for surgery too - but the truth is... he can't give his permission - and it's for his health and the health and safety of all those other kitties outside.

We took care of Mister at 3 months old b/c I didn't want to deal with a large dog with lots of potential Testosterone. :)

*HUGS* to you and Finbar!

Ilanna, you make me laugh...I'm now looking at that photo with a different point of view..I think you are right!!

Husband was kind enough to drop him off for me as one, he and the carrier weigh a ton and two, I'm a coward.

The good thing is I get him back today...they don't keep them long at all and they told me he'd have no stitches to remove.

thanks for the hugs, it's hard to be such a over-the-top animal lover!!

of course i'm right... everyone knows that animals have maps and plans and plots that they bring out whenever we're not home. :)

btw - i finally updated... (as my friend says - About damned time!) lol. :)

as for stitches, yeah they now use surgical glue. it disolves once the incision is sealed shut. The key is to *TRY* and keep him relatively inactive for a bit. Not nearly as critical with males as with females though. . . :) Give him hugs for me!

Holy Shit, they're going to glue him up?? I hope it's real good glue as he is so wacky and active I can't fathom a way to calm him down unless I leave him in his carrier.

Okay coming over for a visit.

I'm proud of you for getting him fixed! You are doing the right and responsible thing. Good girl.

Thank you Lori...By the way, I just called the vets and he's doing fine and we can pick him up after three.

I hope he will maintain his feisty spirit but a bit less destruction around here would also be good.

Having been neutered myself, I can tell you it did stop me from chewing on lampshades and leaping onto the mantle. But I promise you, your ankles would ALWAYS be in danger from me ...

Nilbo, I don't think you were neutered, and if you were, it didn't take! hahahahah I am laughing so hard thinking of you chewing on a lampshade hahahahah

Indeed, I felt the blade after the third and last child. So, perhaps not "neutered", so much as "made less fruitful".

And I only chewed on lampshades at parties, when the "Lookit! A hat!" thing got old.

Nilbo, you are so funny you always make me laugh out loud!

Too bad there aren't more mini Nilbos around, the world would be a better place if there were.

You can chew on my lampshade any day!!

I'd love to ... but does the shade match the carpet?

Yikes. Never has a double-entendre been so hideously stretched.

Still. Fun.

Poor lil guy. I bet he had no idea he was getting a pair of earrings from the vet.
I'm tellin' you folk who think "fixing" an animal is not tramatic ... think again.
The Karmic repercussions are enough to keep the little fella intact. However, catspray is not something you want to live with the rest of your life. I felt so bad getting my cat fixed. It did change his mean lil attitude and I sorta miss that part of him. I'm sure my personality would change if I was taken somewhere scary, drugged and woke up sans balls.

I keep coming back to the picture of him chewing the lampshade and laughing. What a little brat.

Somehow I missed Nilboand Scotty's comments...sorry boys.

Gavin..boy did you get it right with calling him a brat -- perfect word for him. I have to put bananas in the bread drawer or he'll chew on them...I can't leave anything on the counter as he'll claw and chew it, even onions and garlic!! Thanks for visiting!
