I hate trying on clothes.

Hate it!

I need to come up with an outfit for tomorrow evening's outing and I don't know what to wear. The weather makes the problem worse. It could be warm or cold, I could wear open-toed shoes or boots. I could need a coat or just a sweater. Do I paint my toenails just in case?

I have a new favorite outfit, but it entails wearing dark skinny jeans under an adorable red and white polka dot dress. Is denim too informal for an awards dinner? I'm not getting an award. Can I wear it or not? I think not, so I re-try on a less favorite, older outfit but more suitable. Then I change my mind again.

Step in, zip up, check me out in the mirror; unzip, step out. Repeat.

Very soon my tomato mixture should be ready for the bruschetta I am dying to have. Other than trying on clothes and chopping tomatoes, garlic, onions and basil, I've done very little today.

I am avoiding the television so I don't have to see the moron's face on the news as he goes neener neener neener with his veto pen. Hope the DC madame comes up with his name or Rove's name. Maybe that would be enough to get the prez out of office and Rove removed.

These are my thoughts so far today. What have you been thinking about?

Need a house-sitter?

Why don't you just go naked? It's classic.

Naked, oh if I did that then I'd get an award (or arrested!)

I feel for you on your housing situation...you could click your ruby slippers together...oh, you'd end up in Kansas if you did that.

I'd have to say it depends on what kind of awards dinner and what kind of dress?

Is it a dress than can be worn without the jeans? Are the jeans very dark? Like black?

With the right shoes and/or accessories an outfit like that can really pop. :)

I have the fun of figuring out wedding outfits shortly. Think i have one set up for the wedding on the 19th - but there's one at the end of june. IT's an outdoor ceremony indoor reception, in MA but it starts at 7pm on a saturday night and i'm afraid my original plan is too casual. (more saturday afternoony) but the more formal thing I have is TOO formal - more saturday night NY wedding. So i *FEEL* your pain mary - i TRULY do... :) Not to mention - with my bad knee my shoe options are SEVERLY limited. (sigh)

Enjoy your bruschetta - i'm sure you'll find something to wear!

(btw - new update today with you know who updates :) )

Ilanna, the jeans are very very dark blue and look like black (with pet hair of course, I'd have to get rid of that) - It's going to be cold tonight, so I'm going with a two piece dress, black with white dohickeys...and my boots to keep my feet warm and oh yes, I have to mend the sweater that I wear on top...gotta go, I just thought about that, where is that sweater? (I'm stopping by your place first.)
