I got a dress for the wedding. Surprise it's black. I don't know why, but the nice dresses always come in black - I would have loved red as I have these great red sandals with doable heels and when you wear them the red stones that keep your feet situated in the shoe almost look like a string of jeweled toe rings. (I just read what I wrote and the shoes sound awful --not the case. They are quite adorable, not tacky and comfortable. There's only a thin strip that keeps the shoe on; the rest is bare feet.) See here's a picture, cute, aren't they?

I have been told I have nice feet. Once when I was having a pedicure (maybe the only pedicure I ever got in my life) the woman said to me: Your feet are amazing! You have no callouses; your skin is so soft; even your heels are soft.

Wow, lots of compliments on my feet. But, being the me I am I replied: Do you know why that is?

She said no, why?

I said because they've hardly been used.

I thought I was hilarious but she didn't get it.

Anyhow, even though I would have preferred something other than black,I'm happy. It's a long black slinky dress with straps that crisscross in the back. I love the back and I love how the dress fits, looks and the price was right.

I can never get the pictures where I want them. Anyhow, I do have black strappy sandals to go with it and unfortunately the picture just doesn't show how cute the dress actually is.

I am in good shape for the wedding now. Present sent, outfit set - bring on the bride and groom!

Cheers!

Looks pretty! I know how you feel - most of the dresses I have are in black, and just a couple in red. Dresses in all other colors seem pretty horrible most of the time. : (

Irina, of the formal dresses I've bought in my whole life as an adult, I'd say 95 percent have been black!!

I found some gorgeous white dresses but the bride doesn't want anyone to wear white so black it is.

Thanks Jeni - they are really cute. And the best part is they ae totally comfortable!

love the shoes and the dress.

one way to fix the pics is to know that blogger always puts the pics at the beginning of the post.

so what i do is type my post and then click and drag the pics to where they need to be. hope that helps.

also do we get to see a pic of you in the black dress and red shoes?

Hey Mini! I was just thinking about you and hoping all was well.

I'm not wearing the red shoes with the black dress...wish I could but it didn't look right so I'll wear black sandals.

I can't post a real picture of me because I'm staying incognito - too many reasons to list why, but if certain people ever find my blig and figure out who I really am, I'd have to pack my blog up and start over under another nom do plume!

Ooh - see i was gonna suggest the red shoes with the black dress...

you just make it right by wearing a shawl and/or purse that matches the shoes. :) and that makes it work - but if they don't look right that's your call as I can't see you in the whole ensemble. :)

Glad you found a dress though! :)

Ilanna, first thing I did was try the dress with the shoes, but it just didn't work...I love those damned shoes.

Nicole, I usually am behind the camera, not in front of it, but I'll try.

Thanks for getting the joke. I still laugh when I think of the expression on her face WTF sums it up.

PG - it's stinking hot here...my lettuce has bolted, the animals have molted (fur everywhere) and I'm hiding inside in the cool!

Nate! Hope all is well with you...

well what you could do is take a pic without the face... just cut the head out...

hehe - sorry the shoes and dress dont work together.

You don't even need to cut your face out... just turn it away or close it with something.

hey mb...are you the marybishop I know?

I agree with Irina. The red shoes is a really cool way of jazzing up the black. Simple, unexpected, fresh... hip...like you.
