Another wedding to go to; another wedding dress to find. Ick.

I know what I'd like to wear, gauzy slim pants with a gauzy flowy light weight tunic top. I don't want to wear a short dress, and I don't want to wear a long dress and I don't want to wear a tea-length dress and I dislike uneven hems, so a flowy dressy outfit as I described would be perfect for me.

Can't find anything remotely like what I described, but if someone designed such an outfit, it would sell like crazy.

I have over a month to find something so I'm not jittery yet about what I'm going to wear, although I'd like to find it soon and then forget about it.

Tomorrow night we're having dinner with friends (their treat) in a fancy schmancy place, but it's so fancy schmancy the dress code is everything from tails to shorts. I peaked at the menu and decided I'd better not order the steak which cost about what I spend on food for a week, slight exaggeration, but I mean slight.

Phone just rang, gotta go.

Mary - I feel your pain re: the dress. I have a wedding in Massachusetts next weekend and I couldn't find ANYTHING i wanted to wear. I'm heavy, and nothing I found did anything but make me look pregnant or like I was wearing a tent.

So... I went to my seamstress. She made me black palazzo pants, and we are making a modified asian flowy tunic thing to wear on top. Costing me about the same amount of $$ as it would if I bought it in a store. You may want to see if you can find a local seamstress who can make all or part of it...

Good luck though!!! (especially for summer weddings, I prefer pants cuz then yer legs don't stick together from the heat...)

Enjoy your dinner. :) I'll post pics of the outfit when it's done...

Ilanna, I think I need to find a seamstress too. Dinner was superb, we dined at Paci in Southport CT and it was just wonderful. Now I'm full and sleepy. xoxo

Why can't you just wear basic black...pants and a nice shirt? That's what I do for everything. I haven't worn a dress or skirt for a decade.

WR - I ask myself that same question. It's supposed to be black tie optional and one day I'm buying a tuxedo that fits me and that will be my formal dress.

How high class. Good luck with finding the dress.

I'm not kidding Nicole...I once read that a tuxedo is an investment purchase...since I am the same size I was when I met my husband, I wonder how many events I could have attended in a tuxedo if I'd bought one.

Do they make them with darts? ;-)
