To My Devoted Spammers
Dear Spammers, you win. I give up. I am installing word verification on my blog. I absolutely hate to do this as I find it another step that has to be performed due to the actions of the lowest common denominator.
You spammers are the same as those big white theft protector devices that are attached to clothing – a big pain in the ass. I don’t steal and I don’t spam, yet I must suffer the consequences of those that do.
So pat your selves on your back and grin; another one bites the dust.
I must now give up my freedom and alter the freedom of my guests on this blog…I hate that I have to do it but after seeing scores of spam comments this morning I realized I must anti-spam or quit blogging.
To all spammers I offer you this wish: May you have a thousand rubies, ten thousand emeralds and a hundred thousand diamonds! And may they all be in your gall bladder.

Yes, Spammers you made me do this, I didn't want to do it, no I didn't want to do it.
I've been debating. I'm getting like 4-5 spammers a day - but mostly on old archived posts, not the new ones. I hate the word verification thing - mostly because when I use it on other people's blogs, I have to switch windows multiple times thanks to at work blogging, then when I fill out the word verification and inevitably it'll give me an error because it's a NEW word because I timed out. Horribly annoying.

Yeah, that thing I just said? Just posted on my blog and got 2 spammers promptly as the first comments. still not going, but... grr.
Sorry Echrai...I think I might try it this way and then switch back, perhaps I can out think the spammers! Actually, I guess it's all done by automation...hate it. Sorry E --
LB - when I went to your blog I knew the jig was up when I saw you'd installed WV. I had so many spam comments this morning I just had to do it. Like Echrai, I didn't mind when they were on old archive posts - I just thought to myself "Chuckleheads!" and moved on, but now they are on my primary post!!!

I had twelve in an hour. So sorry. The bright side is that word verif usually comes out with swears in russian.
I just got nailed again with verification on... and I am not allowing anonymous posts either.

Ahh, MB..it's ok. Even if you installed WV and put up a barbed wire around your blog, it wouldn't stop me from coming to read your blog and adding in my comments.
Paintergirl - you are funny! Some of the WV words are very intriguing but one day I had a backwards "C" I was supposed to enter and that was impossible!
