Bam bam bam bam bam bam bam bam bam bam bam bam bam bam bam bam bam bam over and over again. My ears are ringing my head is throbbing, and my cellar is so thick with concrete dust I can't see down there. This is the down side of having one's cellar waterproofed with trenches and drains and pumps and lots and lots of bam bam bam.

Then comes the jack hammer. Sounds like a 5000 pound woodpecker. Another reason to have a headache.

But I certainly hope after paying $7500 to this construction company I won't have the headache of water in the basement ever again.

I certainly could find something more enjoyable to spend my money on, but push has come to shove and the rock and the hard place became one. It had to be done, if we attempt to sell or if we stay here till our teeth fall out. Bam bam bam

UGH - earplugs won't block it entirely but would help probably. (I keep some by the bed for when the dogs are noisy or my husband starts clacking his teeth in the middle of the night. :) )

Good luck on the construction - if you have (or will have) a sump pump i HIGHLY recommend that you get a marine battery back up for the system. We did that and when we had the semi hurricane type storms our neighbor's basement flooded when the power went out - but our sump pump kept going because the battery back up kept it running. (or a generator backup)

Just something to keep in mind. :)

Good luck and hope your headache goes away soon.

*HUGS*

HI Ilanna!! Very very good idea on the battery back up. I think we are getting one but I will double check.

These guys work so hard and so loud it's amazing. Somehow Finbar got into the cellar and was scratching at the door at 3 am...we are wondering if he's found a route through the attic down the walls into the cellar as we can't imagine how and when he got down there.

I think my teeth are loose from the vibrations, but it was great to see the water in the trenches they were making...indicated that we had no choice but spend money to make this situation better.

hugs back atcha!
