All the windows and doors are open and the clean cool air is flowing in all directions; curtains fluttering in the breeze and leaves twirling by the windows and a sound of moving air that seems more like the roar of ocean waves. I love fall.

Tonight we'll stay home for dinner and I've got chicken baking in the oven; the oven heat is nipping at the chill in the kitchen -- here and there chunks of oven air mixing in with the cool breezes coming from the open door. I love fall.

I wish I had a clothes line where I could pin up sheets and watch them dance like lumbering ghosts and bring them in before the night dampness and put them on my bed and smell that smell all night long: fresh air.

I love fall.

Ditto MB, This is my favorite time of the year. Rolling hardwood forests surround my home with their beautiful splash of color on the horizon. Its a beautiful thing. The trees have quite a canopy all year so the undergrowth is minimal. Step off into the woods and it has you shielded from the outside world. I too am smitten by fall. Jeff

mmmmmmmm fall - my favorite time of year. When things start to change and the colors get all... well.. Colorful. :) My new trees are *JUST* starting to change color around the edges of the leaves, and I think my pepper plants will FINALLY stop spawning so heavily. :) and I can run the dehydrator without spending extra $$ to keep the AC going to counteract the dehydrator. Just stand outside in the sun with warmth on your face and a cool breeze just floating by bringing with it the scents of fall. . . (yes i'm rambling - can you tell I like the season? :) )

Jeff, how handsome you look in your photo ;-) I love the word smitten and truly that's how I feel too.

Ilanna, hasn't it been an amazing year for garden produce? I'm still picking tomatoes and I know this is the latest I've ever done that...of course, the negative is global warming is helping our gardening season but killing the planet in the mean time :-(

Canopener, we had 39 degrees last night so our true fall days are waning. I'd better go pick those green tomatoes and roll them in cornmeal and fry them up!

What a lovely little post. I love fall too. The trees here are bright red, orange, gold, green and yellow. It's pretty spectacular. This is my favorite time of year too. Soup, soup and more soup. Bring it on.

Hi Jeff! You've done something with your hair.
