There they are in all their beauty...clean and fluffy and defurred. Unfortunately, the old camera is giving up the ghost of a chance of a decent shot. (Ok Kodak cutie, why must you die on me?)

Neither dog likes having his picture taken. They take offense; they feel violated. Beau had to turn his head away because although I commanded him to stay, I never taught him a command that says don't move your head...so each shot is a profile.

Archie just ran to his favorite rug, plopped himself down and took it like a man. Notice their lovely scarves and prettified selves!!

We took them to Murphy's Paw in Stratford Ct. What a great, new place that I wouldn't have known about or traveled to if I hadn't gotten a promotional postcard telling me about the grand opening. I recommend it highly. They did a fabulous job on these guys and the place is adorable too. Well worth the ride.

They managed to get home in good shape as the rain had eased up a bit. Exhausted from their day of beauty, they were content to stay in for the rest of the day. Now the sun is shining and they should be able to go in and out without a total undo or their new do's.

I have a few odd, random things to say.

I think people like Joe Torre because of his extra large schnoz. I think most people are so grateful that they don't have a schnoz like that, they take that gratefulness and turn it into a love for the man.

I think Britney Spears is so sick at this point in her life, I am wondering if she can recover. If there ever was a reason to keep your young daughters at home and away from Hollywood, she's the poster child.

People, both Americans and Iraqis, continue to die in a non winnable war and there's lots of chit chat about how bad it is over there but nothing is done to stop the killing. Thou Shall not Kill is a joke, maybe because in that same set of rules is the old Thou Shall not Covet thy Neighbor's Wife or Goods and we all know coveting is at an all time high.

(my breakfast is served so that's it for now)

The U.S. is in Iraq because it covets Iraq`s oil, pure and simple. And the price we are paying is in blood.

PUPPIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

they look so clean and pretty and fluffy and adorable. :)

as for the rest - i agree wholeheartedly.

Mom posted 2 new posts recently so go on over and read all about it - she's getting into ranting lately. :)
(you can get to her from mine if you lost the link... edi-tori-als :) for those of you who don't know.)

ANyways - love the post - as for Brittney - the sad part is - she keeps getting all this attention drawn to it... I wonder how much "healthier" she'd be if she wasn't continuing to get press about it.

Hi MB!!

Your pups are beautiful!

I like Joe Torre.....to me he seems like a regular guy, amongst the cockiness that reigns on the Yankees.

As for Britney......what a sad case. She had it all, and so badly messed up her life.

And the war........oy.......I agree wholeheartedly with your assessment of it.

Hope you have a great day! Come visit at the Nest!!!

Love,
Linda

You sure got some purdy dogs there ma'am.

Who cares about ms. spears tho..

And I know this is probably an unpopular view, but the "war" in iraq is not a real war at all.

Stay with me for a second and lets take a minute to look at the casualty rates of some wars I do consider "real"

The American Revolution:

Total American Deaths-25,324

The Civil War:

Total American Deaths-863,153

WWI:

Total American Deaths-116,516

WW2:

Total American Deaths-405,399

Korea:

Total American Deaths-54,246

Vietnam:

Total American Deaths-56,244

Now lets look at the deaths connected to the "War on Terrorism" (specifically in Iraq):

Total American Deaths-(In Iraq)2,397

Notice anything different? The media makes it seams like ALOT of deaths but as far as "war" goes its extremly minor.

For comparison lets list:

The number of Americans killed at the world trade center collapse

2,603...

woah! more Americans died in that single day than in the entire "war" in iraq to date!

How about the total number of people killed in highway crashes in 2001:

42,116

Now thats a killer. Geeze one might think we had a "war" going on with cars. On our roads at home.

Thats 20 times higher than the number of americans killed in iraq to date in just one year!

But we all like to expouse our political beliefs about "WAR!" so much I hear about people dying in iraq constantly, how often do I hear that the american motorways are death traps killing our children? Never.

Why do you think that is?

Throughout history America's policy of isolationism has landed her with nothing more than civilian losses when our enemies bring war to us.

But Americans LOVE to think if you just leave the problem alone it will go away by itself. A belief clung to by much of the country proceeding WW2.(hey how did that turn out for the residents of pearl harbor?) Maybe we should think about how leaving the rest of the world alone to solve its problems served us up to now...

Of yeah, the worlds a bloody mess.

Once Hilldog is in office, we will pull everything home. Once again leaving the world to its own devices, and my children or my childrens children will be fighting the war in Iraq again in 20 years.

America should have the backbone to finnish what it started. But we are a bunch of sissies who think everyone would just "play nice" if we left them alone. Welcome to the land of the free and the home of the naive.

See you in iraq in about 2027.

And dont forget to buckle up!

Yes, Sangroncito, deep down war always seems to be about the almighty dollar which is who's got the oil in Iraq.

I love Joe Torre's nose too, Bradley.

Thanks Ilanna...they think they look great...I will visit mom tomorrow..just had a house guest leave and I'm overly pooped! Re Brit -- my assessment is overly exposed to media at a very young age, but making so much money her parents didn't care mixed with "our" obsession with her every move, and constant attention which can become addictive and destructful.

Hi Linda! I think you're right about Torre, I hate the yankees but don't hate him...maybe we'll get him (cubs, red sox or mets) and I'd be happy.

Canopener, yes numbers differ but we --United States of America -- didn't use to invade countries for the hell of it. Also, if you add Afghanistan to Iraq totals you're talking lots of troops, more than the World Trade Center plus, I do think that people are just flesh and blood --same kind of species -- so I can't dismiss the thousands of Iraqis that also died. Now remind me again what Iraq did to deserve our invasion? They had nothing to do with 911 and truthfully under Sadam, were controlled and even a stabilizing force in the middle east, some people say.

Sadam was westernized in that he loved his good champagne and american goods and wouldn't mess with us. We went after him.
Was he a nice guy? Not at all, but there are lots of not-nice guys out there.

Canopener, why aren't you really pissed at Bin Laden? That's the guy I'd tear limb from limb...and he's not in Iraq.

Also, our medical care today can take a horribly mutilated soldier and keep them alive but that's not counted in the deaths and many should be -- troops that will never be able to think again, but are alive, as in breathing.

All wars should be fought by women over 60 and let's see how vicious or common war would be. It is always our young people, filled with lofty ideals and promises of college educations and money to send to mom that die horrible deaths for no good reason.

I don't think there's been a war since WWII that people really were behind with passion, heart, money, and sacrifice...something to think about. I just fucking hate war and I can't help myself. It seems so barbaric and inane and useless and you are right, the middle east will be a problem for a long time, maybe always and I don't know if there is a solution. But Americans taking over countries isn't it. Making huge groups of people hate our guts isn't adding to the well being of any American.

I love all kinds of people, but have never loved a war. I feel a kinship to every living being, even animals. I'm just a super softie, but I'd kill bin Laden with my bare hands if I could. jmho

I've been seriously thinking about getting a golden retriever puppy. I don't know if I will have enough room to house one. Plus, the time. But damn, I love those little buggers!

I had just posted something about Brittany Spears on a discussion board. I feel sorry for the girl. But what in the world is she thinking? Leave the tour, leave the songs, and experience the joys from your children!

N - I agree with your assessment of Britney... Those two beautiful little boys need a mom, not a pop star.

Goldens are great animals; they are wonderful with children and loving and obedient...for the most part. The grooming is necessary or you'll have hair everywhere!! Thanks for stopping by!

OMG MARY BISHOP! I just lost my big long reply to you! in some blogger snfu!

Ill have to summerize.

dead soldiers signed the dotted line. they agreed to take that chance.

I dont have stats on dead iraqis from a reliable source.

Saddam yeah, bad guy, Osama, also bad, am I willing to personally kill anyone? no.

Um...Conquest of numerous native american "nations", the mexican american war, the way of 1812, Does buying the panama canel and our imperalistic dealinga with the western hemisphere count?

yeah war bad, people hurting other people bad bad bad.

And thanks for talking to me and not getting mad because our opinions differ!

But please quit spelling my name with 2 n's(its got 3).

Oh sorry Canopenner...I don't know why I can't seem to spell your name properly. I love to debate and to hear other's opinions and I usually learn something even if I'm not in agreement with the whole of the argument or opinion. When we stop talking about what we care about we stop living an authentic life...when we stop listening to differing opinions we become cemented in place and don't grow.

you are actually spelling it the "right' way. But when I first registered the name on the internet a billion years ago the "right" way was taken. So Ive spelled it the "wrong" way ever since.
