Irina tagged me to do a meme: Seven things you probably didn't know about me.

I've done this before a couple of times, so I'll try to think of 7 different things you might not know or even care to know about me.

1) Once I was in the hospital for a week with a FUO (fever of unknown origin) and was tested for every disease known to mankind -- from AIDs to exotic jungle fevers to cancer. I was sick and tired of being poked and prodded and still with no diagnosis, I signed myself out of the hospital (ever the rebel) and came home. The next day I developed a horrid sore throat, went back to the doctors and was given a real diagnosis: Mononucleosis. Cripes, did it have to take that long to get that simple diagnosis??

2) Related to the above, the mono morphed into some form of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. It took me a year to feel somewhat like I felt prior to the UFO and mono. I have never been the same after that infection. (enough with health)

3) I once co-wrote and got published a short story in a magazine of male gay erotic literature. (not porn honest) Long story on how this collaboration occurred.

4) I have the heart of a hermit and the soul of a spinster; if I hadn't married at such a young age (teenager) I might have become a totally different person than I am now. I am never bored when alone and don't seek approval from others although I do enjoy others company.

5) When left to my own devices, I will choose the cuisine of a child: candy, chips, cupcakes, pizza and hotdogs.

6) My favorite winter drink is a Scotch old-fashioned. Take a heaping teaspoon of sugar (superfine bar sugar is best). Sprinkle Angostura bitters over the sugar till it's all colored red. Cut up a slice of orange and lemon and put in the bottom of the glass and add 2 cherries and some juice. Muddle the sugars and bitters and fruit then add a jigger of Scotch. Muddle some more. Fill glass with chipped ice and top off with club soda...stir. Heavenly.

7) I have written a novel and tons of poetry, composed my own songs, music and lyrics and have two self-portraits hanging in my house (can't really tell one is me) and they all pretty much stink.

There you have it, seven oddball things about me that you could have lived without knowing, I'm sure. I tag anyone who cares to share 7 oddball facts about themselves!!

as always you are a very interesting person.

7 things those in blog world may not know about me:

1. I was in the Army
2. I am a registered Republican
3. I hate the color pink unless it is related to breast cancer awareness or my daughter is wearing it.
4. I too have had poetry published
5. I am very picky about the kind of pizza I eat. There are only 3 places I will get pizza from and one of them is the premade pizza from BJs
6. I used to play trombone in the marching band at the Univ. of DE
7. I hated computers until I got to college.

Great facts Miss Mini!! You are a very eclectic woman with many many talents. (I know about your knitting!!) I have hated pink my whole life up to about 5 years ago when I decided it wasn't all that bad. My mother detested pink and I didn't have a single pink item to wear as a child. (oh another oddball fact!) I don't know about more people coming to my blog, yes, in my prime, but lately I don't have too many visitors...and I don't have the time to visit that I used to have.

Irina, a gay buddy of mine was talking about the lack of gay erotica that was intelligently written and more about love than sex - I suggested we work together..he came up with the plot and setting and combined our writing which made a more sensual story (so the editor said) because of my feminine input. After all, both my gay friend and I love men...so it wasn't much of a stretch for me.

hmm.. 7 things eh? I suppose i could use this as an excuse to post on my blog - but lets see... :)

1)I'm a geek (light) - depends on who I'm being compared too . . .
2)I love to read
3)I have worked part time at a bookstore for 7 years to support said book habit.
4)I haven't seen the real color of my hair since i was 14 (am now 32)
5)I like to cook - but more for larger groups than just me or me and my husband.
6)I was once related to Barry Manilow by marriage - but he was divorced before I was aware of the world.
7)I am a dog person - cats are cute, and nice to pet - but not sure I'd want to live with one. :)

Let me guess. With the novel, gay erotica and mono you called it "Broke Throat Mountain"

Bradley and Jeff: For shame...

Remember that there is not much difference between a gay man and a straight woman when it comes to being erotically interested in a male in all his glory.

You love a gender before you love a specific person, you love the person before you love a specific "part" of a person... right? Am I spitting in the wind? pffffst ;-)

Interesting list, and that drink sounds lovely (basically, alcohol has taken on a new theoretical significance now that I've decided not to drink it for a while). I may try to do the list...but can I think of 7 things that I haven't already shared on my blog? I'll have to ponder this one awhile....

Jeff...I'll be sure to visit and see your hidden secrets heh heh.

Thanks Nate. The finest part about my novel is that I did it and didn't let the stupidity of it stop me from finishing!

Kim..it's a mighty good drink for when (or if) you want a spicy, fruity cocktail.
