Molasses Candy from the Rumford Complete Cook Book 1930 (for my Twitter buddies)

2 cups molasses
2 cups brown sugar
2 Tablespoons butter
1/2 cup water
2 Tablespoons vinegar
1 teaspoon soda (I assume baking soda)

Put all the ingredients, ecept the soda, into a large saucepan, and cook fast, till a little of the mixture dropped into cold water feels brittle (256 degrees F.) Beat in the soda and turn onto a greased slab or agate tray to cool. As soon as it can be easily handled, pull with the fingers till white. Cut into pieces before it is too hard.

That's the whole recipe!

Such a beauty!

Friday, March 02, 2012

How's everyone? I have had a busy week writing about a variety of interesting items, frog clocks for one, and doing social media hooks...like 390 of them on health and beauty. I love being busy it keeps me from worrying about things like my temporary crown falling out! (Talk about temporary!)

I'm psyched because it's Friday and I will be indulging in magnificent pizza and a nice cold pitcher of beer in about an hour. Can't wait.

No one says TGIF anymore, I wonder why?

ttfn!
